Membership: businesses/owners of billboard & Outdoor advertising media can be members (via association).

Registration/enrolment: Member of FBCCI since Dec 1, 2005.

Key issues & influence

The association has voiced concern about government or political use of billboard spaces without owner consent, claiming large financial losses.

It also raises concerns about unregulated billboard placements and approval processes by city corporations, which affect the industry and legitimate owners.

It plays a role in advocating for the rights and fair treatment of its members in the outdoor advertising sector.

Why it matters

The outdoor (billboard) advertising sector is significant in Bangladesh’s media mix, especially in urban areas (Dhaka, Chittagong, etc).

Having a unified owners association helps provide standardisation, representation, lobbying capacity and collective voice in regulation, policy & dispute issues.

Mision of BBAOA

Representing the interests of billboard/outdoor-advertising owners in Bangladesh — advocating for recognition of the business’s contribution to the economy.

Promoting unity among its members and pushing for development and institutionalisation of the billboard advertising industry in Bangladesh.

Engaging with regulatory and municipal authorities to ensure fair approval processes for billboard installations and proper adherence to rules.
